Reaching Most-at-risk Populations with HTC
How do you reach most-at-risk populations and help them seek HTC?
Most-at-risk populations (MARPs) encompass a wide variety of people with different needs. Increasing HIV testing and counseling (HTC) among MARPs requires unique strategies that consider cultural, social, and gender contexts. MARPs encounter intense stigma and discrimination, which makes access to HIV services difficult.
AIDSTAR-One provides health implementers resources for targeting MARPs in HTC programs, including a summary of HTC best practices for MARPs, a situational analysis of HTC for MARPs in Thailand, and case studies.
